Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the fun and educational Oi Ocha bottle-making experience and the insights into Japanese tea culture. However, many find securing reservations online difficult and note that prices in the shop and cafe can be quite high. The museum is generally considered smaller than expected but offers a unique and calm respite.

"The Tea Pet Bottle Making experience was a lot of fun and definitely a highlight of our visit! It was genuinely engaging and educational to see how the famous Oi Ocha bottles are made. However, I have to agree with other reviewers that getting reservations online, even on weekdays, was incredibly difficult. It felt like trying to win a lottery! They really need to streamline that process or offer more slots.

The museum also has a tea shop which is beautifully set up, selling a variety of souvenirs, desserts, and of course, different types of tea drinks. While the selection was good, I found the prices to be very steep across the board. It felt quite pricey for what you were getting, even for a museum gift shop.

Overall, it's an interesting place for tea lovers, especially for the bottle-making experience. Just be prepared for a challenge with reservations and the cost of items in the shop."

"Definitely worth a visit if you are interested in Japanese tea in general. It is both a museum about the Oi Ocha brand but also about Japanese tea. Takes about 45 minutes to see it all. They speak English and are more than willing to explain everything to you. You can even grind your own matcha both the modern and ancient style."
