What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Yuzuruha Shrine for its mystical atmosphere, beautiful moss-covered forest, and stunning summit views. The unique Yatagarasu symbol and the chance to see butterflies in autumn are significant draws. However, the challenging, narrow mountain roads leading to the shrine are a common point of caution for drivers.
"I was brought here because it was said to be a power spot.
However, the narrow road continues for a long time, so people who are not good at driving might want to avoid it. There are some places along the way where it is difficult to pass other vehicles.
However, the view from the top was spectacular.
The moss is beautiful, and there is a clean forest.
You can receive lucky charms and other gifts by putting money into a box.
There is also a rest area and toilets.
Apparently there are rare butterflies there (maybe the ones that appear in Demon Slayer?). I was told that there will be more of them flying around when it gets a little cooler."

"This was my first visit after visiting Izanagi Shrine.
The road is quite rough and there are parts with falling rocks, but I think you can get there in a passenger car.
The car used by the person in charge is a caravan, so even a Hiace would probably be able to get in, but ideally a compact SUV would be ideal.
There were also people who had come up there from hiking, so if you have time it might be fine to walk.
It was a great visit.
Thank you very much."

"In some places, it can be difficult to get through an oncoming car by car. You may need to be prepared to back up about 200m. If you don't remember the next place where you can pass another car, you may get stuck. There are many places where the pavement on the cliff side looks like it might crumble, so please be careful.
The shrine was wonderful and impressive. The moss-covered approach to the shrine, the grounds and the fantastical forest, and the view overlooking Numashima Island made for a first-class experience."
