What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Mitsuhama Port is a modern and efficient ferry terminal, praised for its clean facilities and comfortable ferry services, especially to Hiroshima. While the journey can be long, the spaciousness and scenic views are highlights. Some travelers note limited English information and the transit time from Matsuyama city center as minor drawbacks.
"Easily accessible tourist port terminal with onward travel to many major locations, I took a ferry to Hiroshima from here.
I would advise foreigners to take their passport along because there is a generous discount for passport holding foreigners (it is not enough to look like a foreigner, you must show your passport) that would save you up to ¥2000 in fees. Boarding is done efficiently and the staff can speak English.
There’s also a wide variety of shops and restaurants in the terminal."

"Matsuyama tourist port terminal is a gateway to the picturesque Ehime Prefecture, revealing the best of Shikoku Island's offerings. The terminal itself is sleek, modern, and designed with travelers in mind, offering an array of amenities that ensure a smooth start or end to any journey.
Beyond its functional aspects, the port presents visitors with panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea, creating picture-perfect moments against a backdrop of boats gently bobbing on shimmering waters. Around the terminal, one can find small stalls showcasing local crafts and gourmet treats, inviting travelers to get a taste of Matsuyama's rich culture and flavors. It’s not just a transit point, but an introduction to the warmth, beauty, and charm that Matsuyama and its people have to offer."

"This place is a ferry terminal. They have lines for Hiroshima and Kitakyushu. They have both jet boats and ferry. A little bit far from the downtown of Matsuyama. You take a train and at the end of the stop you change take for a bus. A little bit long to get in. The building itself looks new. There are tickets counters, souvenirs shops, kiosk and cafes. Enjoy!"
