What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Matsuyama Castle to be a well-preserved historical site offering stunning views and a glimpse into Japan's feudal past. The ropeway ride is a highlight, and the adjacent Children's Castle is a hit with families. Some note that the Children's Castle can feel a bit dated, and planning return transport from the castle area is advised.
"This is a great little day trip for the kids if you are staying in the Matsuyama area.
The park has several smaller attractions like Zip Lines and a Bobsled run that kids can enjoy. I personally liked the 3d "maze", but I know there are several similar ones around the country.
Personally I really enjoy visiting large construction projects from the 1980's and 1990's in japan and this park doesn't disappoint.
While we didn't visit it during our stay, the park is adjacent to a Zoo that you can also visit.
To get here you can take a taxi which is reasonable for a family of 4, but for the return trip, you likely will have to take the bus back to town as taxis don't seem to be available in apps near the park."

Nature all around and many attractions. You can have fun all day!"

"Much like its neighbour, Tobe zoo, the children's park is spacious and well looked after. Aside a 300 yen parking fee the park is absolutely free to enter. It is a good idea to check the events page on their website as there are many different activities that take place during each month. In addition, there are open play areas for kids and adults to enjoy playing sports."
