Reviews Summary

Visitors generally have a positive and memorable experience renting kimonos in Kyoto, praising the beautiful selection and the immersive cultural aspect. The staff are often noted for their kindness and efficiency, making the process smooth even for non-Japanese speakers. However, some reviewers suggest a desire for a wider variety of kimono designs.

"The bottom line is that the clients were happy. Initially, it was hard to choose a kimono as the selection wasn't very large. But the overall experience was good, with some nice photos and memories. I'd recommend them to add more selection of kimonos."

Yuval K

"The staff members at Sakura Kimono Kyoto were incredibly warm and welcoming from the second I walked into the shop. They showed me a very extensive collection of both traditional silk (¥6.000) and printed kimono (¥4.000) to rent for the day (09:00-18:00).

After making my choice, 2 wonderful ladies helped me out on the intricate multiple layers with ease and even put together a super cute hairstyle to go with it.

I would highly recommend this location for kimono rental even if you speak hardly any Japanese like I do."

Nienke Sahelijo

"Really great service, we rented two beautiful kimonos for the day and the attention from the two ladies who work there is impeccable. Moreover, at the end of the day we decided to buy one of the second hand yukata (which are really well preserved and have no smell whatsoever) (it was 4800 yen with the belt) and also bought two beautiful figurines for 2200 yen in total! Very happy with their service and definitely recommend. Thank you."
