What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
MIMOCA is praised for its stunning architecture by Yoshio Taniguchi and its engaging contemporary art exhibitions, particularly in textile design. Visitors appreciate the serene atmosphere and the quality of the art. However, some find the museum's facilities or specific exhibition content less appealing, and occasional issues with language barriers or minor inconveniences have been noted.
"This is a truly comfortable and well-appointed ryokan.
From Takamatsu Airport, it takes less than an hour by direct airport limousine bus, allowing guests to experience the luxury of checking into a hot spring inn shortly after landing.
The rooms are spacious and impeccably clean, making my stay very relaxing. Guests staying in the Hitenkan (飛天館) building have access to a special, more secluded onsen bath—which is wonderfully peaceful and quiet.
The meals are also meticulously arranged. Dinner can be served in a private dining room, providing a quiet and elegant experience.
The hotel staff were attentive and highly responsive. I once emailed them from the JR train just 30 minutes before arriving at Kotohira Station, asking if a pick-up could be arranged. They responded promptly and arranged it without issue.
I look forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay."

"Great room, service, onsen water quality and facilities.
The view is good, the lobby staffs are very helpful and professional.
The private room kaiseki dining serves excellent food and service
Room to improve would be
1) Due to language barrier the explanation on our food wasn't done - which is quite un-Japanese in my experience, as normally the service provider will do their best to explain the dishes. Some even do it in Japanese even they can't use a translator, but doing their best to describe what we are having
2) Apart from that, the loud footstep outside our dining room is not fitting to this high level of service."

"The twin bedroom is extremely small and outdated. Although the dinner set includes many items, the quality is disappointing. As a guest staying for two nights, I simply asked to borrow a spoon to eat some cantaloupe but was refused."
