"2025 August 4★
Lifeguard and officially the beach closes on the second last week of August. You can still go to the beach and swim in the sea. On the weekends, there are changing rooms and individual shower areas. However, during the weekday there is an outdoor rinse area with washrooms.

The beach itself is pretty clean. The water nice and be warm. Didn't see any jelly fish, but there are lots of fish in the area.
It's nice and well with the trip.

Easy access right outside the subway station. Note that while the subway station has a washroom, no changing is allowed there."

"As a foreigner with a couple smallish tattoos in my leg, this was confusing. We entered on the northern side, the walked along the beach, past a rope. No signs anywhere. We then went towards the walk way to leave and we're stopped by 2 workers telling us to cover my tattoos. We then saw signs with rules.
There were no signs along the beach as we walked to warn us. Apparently during the summer for 6 weeks they mark off a specific area for Smile Beach with strict rule enforcement. If we stayed on the other side of the rope we'd be fine. That's what we were told I think, and saw others there with tattoos.

But then along the walkway I saw a map a rule sign which said Google translate uses) don't intimidate others, including showing tattoos on the beach. But yet others were there with tattoos on the beach. So I think as long as you avoid the roped off area you should be fine."

"Nice little beach about 15 min from Kobe $1.50 / 200 Yen. There are some small jellyfish around so be aware. Free umbrellas, lifeguards, and private shower stalls. Be aware if you have tattoos they need to be covered entirely or they will ask you to leave."
