Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Tabata Memorial Museum of Writers and Artists for its free admission and the fascinating insights into the lives of literary figures. The opportunity to collect a unique manhole card and explore the neighborhood with a walking map are highlighted as special bonuses. However, the strict no-photography rule can be a drawback for some, and the Akutagawa exhibit is noted as being primarily panel-based.

"[May 6, 2025 ☔]

The illustrations in the special exhibition for Iwata Sentaro's "Osaka Castle Story" (by Murakami Genzo) were amazing!

They were dynamic!

Ikegami Shinichi's collection of bento wrapping paper was also interesting!

There was also moss from Mt. Hiei that was in Muro Saisei's garden!

🌟For garden stones, go to nearby Dobashi Park!

The permanent corner was fun, with heartwarming stories about Itaya Hazan, Akutagawa Ryunosuke, and Muro Saisei.

The story that stuck with me the most today was about Itaya Hazan's daughter needing chrysanthemum flowers but not having the money to buy them...

I don't want to give away any spoilers, so I won't write about it 😃

Also, when a female customer came, Itaya Hazan would secretly... beforehand...

(lol)
I like it ✨

There was a video of Itaya Hazan, which was also good!

You can even see Ryunosuke Akutagawa climbing a tree!

This is a wonderful memorial museum!

The 3 hours fly by!"

"📅2025-March
Visited to receive a manhole card.
Materials related to great writers related to Tabata were on display. (Photography is prohibited inside the museum).
I also liked the manhole card design when I was little [Norakuro]❣️🐕‍🦺
It is written on the back of the card that the author has lived in Tabata.
It is a 10-15 minute walk up the slope to the manhole installation location.
The poster promoting greetings on the wall of Tabata Elementary School makes me feel warm 🍀😊"
