"This historic shrine is located about a 20-minute walk from Anegasaki Station.
The steps leading to the shrine are surrounded by trees, providing shade and a cool, pleasant climb. The grounds are also surrounded by nature, allowing you to worship at your own pace in a calming atmosphere.

"I visited the shrine on July 29, 2025, under the scorching heat of the sun.
With no other worshippers in sight and only the sounds of cicadas echoing throughout the temple grounds, I searched for shade and made my way to the front of the main hall. The straw circle used for the summer purification ritual was still there, and by the time I passed through it three times, I was already drenched in sweat. It's really hot in midsummer at a shrine.
The main hall was very beautiful, and its cleanliness could be seen from the outside. As it is listed as a shrine in the Engishiki, it must be a very ancient and distinguished shrine. Along the Tokyo Bay coast in Boso, there are several shrines associated with the legend of Emperor Yamato Takeru and Princess Ototachibana, in stark contrast to the lone Hashirimizu Shrine in Yokosuka, where I live across the bay.
I also received a red seal. The offering was a rare 300 yen, which I was grateful for.
Thank you for allowing me to have a wonderful visit."
