Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Shiosai Park for its beautiful, well-maintained Japanese garden, serene koi pond, and the stunning potential views of Mt. Fuji on clear days. The historical significance as a former imperial villa and the convenient access via public transport are also frequently highlighted as major positives. Some visitors note that dining options within the park are limited, and the visibility of Mt. Fuji is entirely dependent on the weather.

"We loooove this garden! On a good day, Mt Fuji is Visible and it’s stunning.
The path on the left side of the garden that leads to the beach is a plus!

It’s accessible by public transportation and free parking for those who prefer to drive."

Ahoefa Adjowa

"Gorgeous small park convenient by public transportation; nice koi pond, Japanese lanterns, and waterfall. Summer lilies attracted dozens of swallowtail butterflies."

"I visited the town of Hayama for the first time this past weekend. Although I didn’t do any sailing because I don’t own a yacht nor do I have any well off friends that do, I still had a great time.

One of the places I visited in Hayama was Shiosai Park. The park was formerly a villa for the imperial family. It is the site where the Taisho emperor suddenly died and the succession ceremony took place for the Showa emperor to begin his reign.

There’s a small museum in the park that includes a room dedicated to the Showa emperor’s study of marine life around the Miura Peninsula. I had no idea that he was such a scholar."
