What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Gamagori Onsen offers a charming, albeit rustic, ryokan experience with natural hot springs and beautiful bay views. Guests praise the friendly staff, delicious traditional food, and the unique retro arcade games. While some facilities show their age and may need renovation, the affordable pricing and relaxing atmosphere make it a worthwhile visit for those seeking an authentic Japanese getaway.
"As others have said, the building is getting on in age now, but the rooms have recently been renovated. What you get is a decent, affordable little ryokan spa-resort type place with a gorgeous outdoor bath, pool, games room and free flowing booze in the lounge. Check out the ancient games machines on the bottom floor too. Food is standard ryokan fare, nothing really standout but serviceable. Staff were all warm and friendly - no indication they could speak any English though, so be warned! Great little place. Would like to come back."

"Its an old building- has a rustic vibe to it.
I hope they maintain the carpet or maybe change it.. but its our stay was good. The food too. The public bath and open air bath was excellent. I just wish they maintain the pool."

"I had a lovely night! the food was delicious at breakfast time, the rooms were spacious with a lobely few of the Bay and quite comfortable! The onsen baths were a little small but not so small to bother me. We had a slight hiccup with the shuttle service being the only real moment of negativity in the whole trip.
staff were kind, spoke fine english and over all a delight.
hope to go visit again soon."
