What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Travelers rave about the Enoshima Electric Railway's nostalgic charm and scenic coastal route, calling it a must-do day trip from Tokyo. The retro trains and picturesque island views are highlights, though crowds can be significant, especially on weekends. Many appreciate the value of the day pass and the unique photo opportunities.
"The century-old train is quite unique. I boarded it at 3:00 PM on Friday. It was full of high school students. They used their Suica cards to enter and exit the station, which was very convenient."

"Enoshima Station and the green train are cute and nostalgic, attracting many tourists even on weekdays. The carriage was crowded, and the roads leading to major attractions were also crowded. We originally planned to take the tram back to JR Kamakura Station, but seeing the large crowds, we temporarily changed our itinerary and chose to walk all the way back from the Kamakura Great Buddha Hall Kotokuin. Along the way, we passed many specialty shops and local houses. The streets were quiet and there were few tourists, making people feel relaxed and comfortable. Walking on this small road full of life, you can not only appreciate the daily style of Kamakura, but also have an unexpected leisurely experience, which becomes an unforgettable time during the trip."

"As a railway fan, in addition to watching the sea and eating delicious food, you can't miss the small and exquisite "Enoshima Headquarters" when you come to Enoshima! The headquarters is actually near Enoshima and Enoshima Station, and it is a corner where railway fans will secretly get excited. The exterior looks low-key, but you can see parked trains and dispatching tracks, which makes taking photos unique.
We arrived in the afternoon of the same day and happened to see the trains entering and leaving the dispatching yard. Standing next to it and listening to the "click" sound and the slow sliding of the vehicles was really super healing. Although there are no exhibition halls or tourist facilities here, it is a pure happiness for people who like railways.
Enoshima Station is nearby, which is convenient for taking the train, and there are many cute railway-related shops around. Although it is not big, it is definitely worth arranging a 15-minute stop for railway fans or travelers who like to take pictures of the carriage scenery!"
