What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ginza Sand is celebrated for its exceptionally fluffy bread and high-quality, handmade sandwiches, particularly the Wagyu beef and egg salad varieties. While many praise the delicious flavors and late-night availability, some find the wait times long for a takeout-only experience and consider it a good, but not necessarily 'queue-worthy' option.
"Came here as it was highly recommended on social media and our hotel. We ordered the beef sauce cutlet sando and shrimp cutlet sando and it was average, like good for a quick lunch or afternoon snack, but definitely wouldn't queue for more than 10 mins.
We waited close to 30 mins for both Sandos at 2:30PM but totally understandable as it was a one man show.
Worth a try? Yes. Worth coming back again? Nah."

"Ginza Sand is not just a sandwich shop; it's a destination for experiencing one of Japan's most delightful culinary art forms: the sando. Located in the heart of Ginza, this spot elevates a simple concept into a luxurious, must-try treat.
The secret starts with the bread, which is impossibly fluffy, cloud-like, and moist, providing the perfect, delicate casing for the fillings. You can immediately tell that everything here is truly handmade, as the sign mentions. The quality of the ingredients is impeccable.
I highly recommend trying one of their signature fruit sando options. The seasonal fruits—whether it's sweet, plump strawberries or creamy mango—are always perfectly ripe and paired with a light, subtly sweet cream that never overwhelms the fruit's natural flavor. The presentation is stunning, cut perfectly to showcase the vibrant filling. For a savory option, their classic Tamago (egg salad) sando is arguably the best in Tokyo; it's creamy, rich, and addictive.
While there can be a short wait (a testament to their popularity and focus on fresh preparation), the staff is friendly and efficient. This is the ideal spot to grab an elegant treat to enjoy while strolling through Ginza or to take back to your hotel. If you are looking for an elevated, yet comforting, Japanese food experience, do not miss Ginza Sand!"

"found this place through TikTok and it did not disappoint. These sandwiches are sooo good! The steak was cooked perfectly and the bread has a nice toast but still super soft. The egg sandwich melted in your mouth! I don't like egg sandwiches typically but this changed me. Definitely recommend trying this spot!
We came at a time with no line but the wait was 20 minutes to cook as everything is fresh. We didn't mind the wait becuase there are so many shops nearby to walk in while you wait. The only downside is there is nowhere to eat. Thankfully our hotel was nearby so we took it there to eat."
