What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests consistently praise the Imperial Hotel Tokyo for its exceptional service, historical charm, and prime location. While some rooms may show signs of age, the overall experience is elevated by the staff's dedication and the hotel's elegant ambiance. It's a highly recommended choice for those seeking a blend of classic luxury and convenient access to Tokyo's attractions.
"Staff were exceptional with service and courtesy. The hotel feels quietly elegant. Our room was a little dated but stately and comfortable. Though the breakfast seemed popular, we were able to find more affordable options mere blocks away. The hotel is convenient to transit and with plentiful taxis. The pool/bath/spa is a nice amenity even though it seems tucked away."

"Our first stay at the Imperial Hotel has been wonderful. When we checked in, our original room was too far of a walk and we weren’t fully satisfied. Thankfully, Kiera at the reception stepped in right away and took amazing care of us. With his coordination, the team upgraded us to a much closer and more comfortable room, accommodating us to our full satisfaction.
The location of the hotel is incredible, just steps away from high-end shopping districts and within easy walking distance to many of the best spots in the city. The rooftop lounge is beautiful, and the view, including the Imperial Palace, has truly added something special to our stay. The history behind the hotel is also fascinating, and learning about it made us appreciate the experience even more.
Thanks to Kiera and the hotel’s perfect combination of comfort, service, and history, we are enjoying every moment. This is our first visit, but certainly not our last. Highly recommended!"

"The service at this hotel is truly top-notch, just as other reviews attest. I want to give a special shout-out to Sakon, a trainee at the concierge desk—she was absolutely amazing. As a fairly avid traveler, I’m usually adept at navigating complex bookings, but Japan’s myriad transportation options presented a real challenge. I had a very specific request with multiple variables, and Sakon handled it all with impressive knowledge and patience. She not only helped me book what I needed but also found quicker, more efficient alternatives that I couldn’t have discovered on my own.
Her assistance truly elevated my trip: My planned hike on Mount Fuji seemed impossible due to fully booked buses and trains, but she uncovered viable options that made it happen. On top of that, she patiently guided me through esoteric Japanese websites to secure the reservations. Thank you, Sakon, for significantly improving my experience and saving my hike—your service was exemplary!
Overall, the hotel delivers excellent service across the board. If I must be critical, the Tower room I stayed in could use a modern update, though it was impeccably clean and still provided a great stay. You won’t be disappointed here!"
