"A beautiful excursion destination for travelers in Beppu. The mountain can be reached either by cable car or via a hiking trail. The view over the coast is very nice when the weather is fine. Unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky. Nevertheless, the mountain is worth a visit."

The entire trail has been severely damaged by a recent typhoon and shows no signs of being rebuilt or maintained by the city. It’s extremely unsafe sections are completely wiped out, and the path is overgrown and unstable. During our hike, we encountered multiple snakes and other wild animals, with no warning signs posted at the trail entrance. The trail is poorly maintained, dangerous, and should be avoided until proper restoration and safety measures are in place."
