"I wonder if the map thinks it's a hotel? There's an exhibit on Ashikaga Meisen and historical materials. Walking around town, you can imagine the buildings here and there must have been magnificent in the past, and it's quite enlightening to see why. The patterns seem slightly different from those of Isesaki Meisen. It's also nice that you can try making your own on the spot. They also sell clothes and accessories made in the city. The gray-dyed bags are a hidden gem!! What's more, samples and scraps of knit fabric produced by companies in the city are all 100 yen!! Most of the fabrics are plain, like 80x100 and 160x100 pile and rib knit, but they also have mesh and boa. Patterned fabrics are 300 yen for 30-40 cm, and there are many patterns I've never seen before. T-shirt yarn with rolled up knit selvedge was also incredibly cheap. It was hard to keep my wallet tight..."
