What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Cunha Cunha Pass Trail is a historically significant and challenging hike, praised for its length and connection to Maroon heritage. Hikers should be prepared for a long trek, wear protective clothing against insects and sun, and allow ample time. While rewarding, it's best suited for experienced hikers.
"I think Cunha Cunha Pass is supposed to be one of the oldest hiking trails in Jamaica. It's definitely one of the longest, over 7 kilometers long. To think that our Maroon ancestors used to trek this route often in the day.
If you're an avid hiker, then this trail is for you. It would take 2-3 hours just to reach the Ambassabeth section of the trail, from there it continues onward.
It's of moderate difficulty but that's is you're doing a one way trip. If it's a two trip where you're coming back up, it can get more challenging... That's gonna be an additional 2-3 hours.
It can get very busy, being a trail that isn't all that frequented. So wear long pants, tall sleeve shirts and don't forget insect repellent."
