What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning panoramic views from the Fondaco dei Tedeschi terrace, calling it a highlight of their Venice trip. The museum's natural history collections, particularly the zoological exhibits, are also praised for their educational value and engaging displays. Some find the terrace booking process a bit challenging due to high demand.
"This is a hidden gem, located in a quiet and relaxing area of Venice. The museum features a wide variety of unique exhibits, including a large collection of stuffed animals (which might feel a bit eerie by today’s standards), animal skeletons, rare fossils and gems from across Italy, prehistoric remains, and much more. There are even several aquariums showcasing unique fish species.
All the exhibits are thoughtfully displayed in beautifully designed rooms, each arranged with charm and care. The museum also has a small, tranquil garden that’s perfect for a quiet break.
We visited on a holiday, yet the museum wasn’t crowded at all. Entry is free with the Venice Museum Card. This is a must-see, especially if you're visiting Venice with kids."

"Not the biggest museum but very cute, chill and nice lighting, interesting way of showing different specimens, few cool things"

"Genuinely one of the best natural history museums I’ve been to. Yes it’s small, but that means it’s not overwhelming. Most importantly, it’s not busy. We walked around almost by ourselves for the entirety of our visit. My son who is 4 loved it. It has the right level of information and exhibits. It’s modern and clean and the collection is varied and interesting. It was one of the best things we went to on Venice."
