"This is one of only two remaining parish churches on the island of Murano. It combines elements of Early Gothic architecture with Renaissance and Baroque features. Originally built in 1348 alongside a Dominican monastery, the church was consecrated in 1417. After being destroyed in a major fire in 1474, it was rebuilt and completed in 1511. The church was closed under Napoleonic rule in 1806, but reopened as a parish church in 1813."

Best time to visit Murano is in May till August for the sun basked beauty of the island, its buildings, little shops and canals. Photography during these times is a treat and you’ll get your luscious shots around the island.
Best of all the entrance to the church is free. You can drop an offering at the door as your love offering that goes to the maintenance of the church."
