"The view at the top of Mount Somma is breathtakingly incredible, from up there you can see Napoli and nearly all Circumvesuviana's City.
P.S. The shortest path to the top isn't the easiest to climb."

"Just go and do it! It was amazing!
It’s a long hike (approx 7hr in total), but it’s an impeccable pathway, very easy to walk it. We called the Parco office and the very unfriendly lady told us the sentiero was closed and only route#5 was available (coincidentally enough that’s the only one where they can secure payment). Thankfully, we listened to the locals instead who told us to go, and the path was perfect - didn’t feel unsafe at all. Once at the top, the official guide told us the only problematic area is behind the Vesuvio where a bridge has fallen, so you just can’t go around it (I’m posting a pic with red crosses to show you where they told us not to go). Other than that, all sentieros are good to go, just make sure you follow the signs and stay on the paths. Note: for route#5, you can get your tickets (approx 12€) online with your phone once you get to the top, as you need to select a specific time slot."
