What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Grotte di Oliero for its stunning natural beauty, particularly the unique boat tour through the caves, and the friendly, knowledgeable staff. The surrounding park and museums add educational value. However, some find the 'wow' factor less pronounced compared to other caves, and parking can be a significant challenge.
"Interesting park and application! Good for a short stop. Every member of the staff we interacted with (probly about 9 by the end of the visit) was top notch! Great, enthusiastic, friendly, knowledgable, helpful and accomodating. Can't recommend them more. Can recommend arriving early, the place seemed to fill up steadily after we got there. We arrived about 25 minutes after opening (mostly do to parking, which is very limited). We were able to get right on the next boat to get into the main attraction cave. After the ~30 minute tour (3 stopping and talking points after debarking the craft) you ride back out the way you came in. The tempurature was fantastic for a hot Aug day! The paper museum celebrating 500 years of making paper and cardboard(?), had some interesting mechanical models and is on the historical paper mill site (no longer producing). The ecological/cave museum had some interesting points, and the amphibians were cool to see swimming around the environment. Feedback for the museums: tours are offered in English, any chance the museum display descriptions could have English translations? That would be great. Otherwise, thanks!"

"We got there right at the opening time, and it was so tranquil. Super friendly staff, they also made sure to give us a tour of the cave both in english and italian and helped us with the bus-navetta situation. The place is surely worth visiting: clean, breathtaking scenery and informative, we will surely come back!
If you don't mind walking a bit, you can also arrive at the train station in Carpané-Valstagna or take a bus from Bassano del Grappa."

The Karst Phenomenon of Oliero
The Grotta Parolini, the primary cave accessible by boat, showcases this karst activity beautifully. Visitors are taken on a guided tour where they can witness the impressive scale of the underground river and the delicate, yet powerful, formations sculpted by water.
