Reviews Summary

Visitors are consistently impressed by the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Tuscania, highlighting its rich collection of Etruscan artifacts and the unique setting within a 13th-century convent. The free admission is a major draw, making it an accessible and highly recommended experience. While some note the lack of a gift shop, the quality of the exhibits and the clear, bilingual explanations make it a standout attraction.

"We visited the Tuscania Archaeological Museum in June and were pleasantly surprised by the richness of its exhibits—not to mention the fact that entry is free. Housed in a former 13th-century convent, the museum offers a remarkable glimpse into the Etruscan world.

Unfortunately, like many similar museums in Italy, it lacks a gift shop—not due to any oversight on their part, but because of limited public funding and the absence of published materials or merchandise related to the collection

The curators are doing a fantastic job with the resources available, and we truly hope that more tourists will add this hidden gem to their itinerary. It holds its own against the more "celebrated" Etruscan Museum of Tarquinia."

"Anywhere else in the world this collection would be a national treasure. In Italy, with its wealth of history and art, this is a barely known collection in a provincial town, barely visited…

But this is an excellent collection of Etruscan artifacts, tastefully presented. Clear explanations in English and Italian. And free as well! We really enjoyed our visit."

MTL

"A beautiful museum inside an historic convent. Very well laid out and well documented artifacts."
