What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Tor Caldara Watchtower is praised for its beautiful natural reserve, coastal cliffs, and forest trails, offering a peaceful escape and great sunset views. However, visitors note its limited opening hours and suggest potential for better maintenance.
"Quite interesting to visit but open only 3 mornings (Thu, Sat and Sun) per week. Why???
Could be maintained much better than it currently is as it has a high potential but unfortunately that is not the case currently.
The territory of the reserve appears almost flat, and ends at the sea on top of a cliff about 15 meters high on the sea level. The tower which gives its name to the reserve is situated on the highest point of the cliff, and was used to control the Lazio coast, from pirate raids.
Would be nice if they could open it also at night from time to time so that people could see the stars benefitting from the absence of artificial lights.
Thanks to those who decided to create this small natural park that prevented the crazy urbanisation that has ruined the area."

The Historic Watchtower
While the tower itself is a focal point, its primary draw is the panoramic vista it offers.
