What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Spiaggia di Sant'Antonio is appreciated for its unique black sand and calm waters, offering a pleasant swimming experience. However, visitors note that much of the beach is privatized, and the free public areas can be less maintained. It's a beautiful spot, especially in the winter, but can become crowded and less pristine in peak summer months.
"Beautiful, with black sand on the southern part (hotter than white sand on your feet - wear water shoes!). Restaurants and bathrooms nearby. Can get windy."
Jacira Paolino
"Worth decreases if you arrive later in the day. Heavily privatised beach. If you don't want to pay for seating (for instance we arrived at 1800 and only wanted a quick swim) you are directed to a small public area at the end of the beach. This area is not cleaned (small sticks everywhere and some larger driftwood), but also the quality of the water is poor: floating rubbish and muddy. Quite shallow as well, better for standing than swimming."

"I lived in Termoli for one year. This is a beautiful beach in the winter months. Only to be taken over in the summer by the stabiliméntos."

Understanding the Beach Sections
On the other hand, the public area is free to access but can be a trade-off in terms of cleanliness and quality. Visitors have noted that this area might have more debris, such as small sticks and driftwood, and the water quality can sometimes be affected by floating rubbish or mud. It's also described as quite shallow, which might be better for wading than for serious swimming.
For those seeking a balance, arriving early in the day can help secure a decent spot in the public area or allow for a quick swim before paid services become a necessity. The unique black sand on the southern part of the beach is a notable feature, though it can get very hot under the sun, making water shoes a practical recommendation.

Beyond the grand fireworks, the beach also hosts more serene cultural moments. A particularly beautiful experience shared online is witnessing the sunrise accompanied by live piano music. This creates a magical atmosphere as the day begins, blending the natural beauty of the coast with artistic performance.
