"One of the most interesting spots in Savona and surprisingly free to visit. The fortress is beautifully located on a hill that has been the heart of the city since the Bronze Age. There is also an archaeological museum inside, although it was closed when I visited.
The place feels raw and austere which actually gives it a lot of charm. You can walk through the interior, explore the rooftop terraces and climb the ramparts for stunning views of the sea, the city and the mountains. Definitely worth seeing if you are in Savona."
