What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Piccolo Buco is widely lauded for serving some of the best pizza in Rome, with a light, airy, wood-fired crust and high-quality ingredients. Diners rave about the intimate atmosphere and friendly service, though the lack of reservations and proximity to the Trevi Fountain mean significant queues are common. Despite the wait, most agree the exceptional pizza makes it a worthwhile experience.
"It was a rainy Wednesday, so surprisingly there wasn’t a long queue, in fact in 10 minutes we seated as a group of 3.
the place is tiny, but I love this kind of intimate vibe. the service is fast and normally people don’t spent a lot of time after eating so the exchange is pretty constant and fast.
The staff were so friendly and polite, they checked on us if everything was okay and had the time to strike a short conversion with us.
The pizza was very good snd light, it came within 10 minutes.
we got: bell pepper pizza, piccolo buco margherita and burrata margherita.
All the desserts are homemade: the tiramisu has a nice mascarpone cream and it was well balanced. The raspberry one was a bit too sweet for my liking but it was fun to try something new.
Overall, the experience was nice, the food was appreciated and we had a pleasant time! I hope to return there when the queue is short as that day!"

"This place might be the best pizza 🍕 I ever had! Piccolo Buco in Rome 🇮🇹 near Trevi Fountain ⛲ serves an incredible selection of delicious 🤤 pizza! Definitely get any of their Burrata cheese 🧀 topped pizzas - they are absolutely amazing! 🤩 Service is quick ⏲️ and the staff 👨🍳 is welcoming and professional. They tend to have a long line 👥 so arrive early ⏰ and queue up at the alley across the door. 🚪 I wish I could come here more often!"

"Piccolo Buco is one of those rare places where a single bite tells you everything you need to know. The pizza here is truly outstanding: soft, airy, beautifully risen, and wonderfully flavorful. The crust is rich and slightly chewy, with just the right amount of char, while the center remains delicate and light. It’s the kind of pizza that feels indulgent but never heavy, allowing you to enjoy every slice without feeling overwhelmed.
The ingredients are clearly high quality, from the fresh tomatoes to the creamy mozzarella and fragrant olive oil. Every topping tastes intentional and balanced. You can tell that great care goes into every pizza that comes out of the oven.
The restaurant itself is small and cozy, which adds to its charm but also explains the frequent line outside. Still, the wait is absolutely worth it. The atmosphere inside is warm and lively, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
Piccolo Buco offers one of the most memorable pizza experiences in Rome: simple, authentic, and exceptionally delicious.
I left completely satisfied and would return in a heartbeat."
