What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Orto Botanico for its serene atmosphere and diverse plant collections, offering a peaceful escape from Rome's bustling city life. Highlights include the enchanting Butterfly House and the picturesque Japanese Garden. Some find it a bit small, and special events can draw larger crowds.
"This was such a cool find! We had some time to kill before leaving Rome so we walked over to the botanical garden as it was close to our accommodation. I wish we would have given ourselves more time because there was so much to see here. After spending a few days running around at the very heavily populated tourists with crowds and crowds of people, it was so nice to go somewhere quiet and serene. We went in the late morning around 10 am which was perfect because it wasn't very busy at all but was already a beautiful day. If you go up to the top of the park, you can see a gorgeous view of the city."
Allison Hergert
"We had a wonderful time at the botanical garden. The 5 dollar entry fee was well worth it. I would have even paid 10. We got to see all kinds of plant species. We spent hours and hours just walking around reading about plants and taking in all of the nature. Much nicer than being in the city. I think the park could do better at advertising everything it has to offer. There is a butterfly garden and a tropical greenhouse which were really spectacular. There is some construction and some things that were closed but we still had a great time."
Gavin Tramell
"The greenhouses had some interesting succulents and cacti, but overall I was slightly disappointed. A lot of the areas seemed to be closed for the season/under renovation.
Honestly I think I would skip this and spend more time at park Cedro del Libano. It was incredible (and free)!"
