Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the unique experience of ascending Mount Etna, with many highlighting the knowledgeable guides and the breathtaking volcanic landscapes. The pizza at Rifugio Sapienza also receives high marks. However, some find the cost of the cable car and 4x4 tours to be quite high, and queues can be long if not arriving early.
"I did not stay at the hotel. We planned a day to hike the volcano. We took the cable cars and then the trucks most of the way to the mountain and then hiked the rest of the way up through a tour excursion. The guide was very very knowledgeable and helpful. We had some inexperienced hikers in our group which caused some headache if you will, but overall I would definitely return. One suggestion I would make to the excursion guides would be to split the experienced hikers and the inexperienced hikers into 2 groups. I did this hike with cracked ribs and to be honest there was maybe 3 people in the group that had zero hiking issues. About half the group needed babysitting if you will."

"We came here after our Mount Etna quad tour and we’re able to use a voucher for pizza. This was probably one of the best pizzas I had in Italy. I had the Mount Etna."
Alexis Hodges
"Good parking arrangements. Park, then use one of the parking machines to pay the time you are likely to stay. I paid €5 for half day (6 hours). Need to type in your car registration number, then put the printed ticket on your dashboard."
