"Best way to visit Portofino. We bought the tickets from the hut in Rapallo and had a drink nearby. The boats are very punctual so be there on time. It was a smooth crossing which takes about 30 mins. The staff are very friendly. Highly recommend"

"At 9:30, the queue was quite big, but we made it on the 10 o'clock ferry. I couldn't buy the tickets with my German Bankkarte, so I ended up paying cash. Other than that, the trip to San Fruttuoso was very beautiful."

"Great option to see other cities while in Rapallo. We took the Ferry from Rapallo to Portofino and it was great. You want to get in line at least 30 minutes in advance if you want to sit in a certain spot. The schedule is printed and you can take a picture of it. Tickets are easy to purchase and they offer discount for large groups. We left Rapallo and it was raining so they brought the closed ferry to keep dry which was really great. Everyone is very friendly and they even held the ferry for my dad because he walks slow with a bad knee. Highly recommend if you are visiting."

When visiting Portofino, the charming harbor is relatively compact and easy to navigate with strollers. The novelty of arriving by boat adds an extra layer of excitement to the day trip. While San Fruttuoso is beautiful, the potential crowds and limited facilities might make it less ideal for families with very young children compared to the more accessible Portofino.
