"The current church was built on the site of the pre-existing church, demolished in 1949 together with the rectory. The new building, with a different orientation and larger than the previous one, was built in two phases based on a design by the engineer Arrigo Tempesti and Father Raffaello Franci.
The church, with a Latin cross plan with a short transept and a deep square apse, is covered with a wooden truss ceiling. The façade, with a facing in smooth squared blocks of Alberese stone and corner pilasters in rusticated stone, has a blind arch that frames, in a slightly recessed portion in brick, the central rose window and the stone entrance portal, surmounted by a tympanum and connected to the level of the square with a staircase.
