"We visited this place during one of our cycling trips when it was still possible to ride along the pier and there were no signs prohibiting it. We returned recently, and although the bridge is no longer accessible, the charm of this place has not diminished. The beauty of the sea is a given on an island like Lipari, given that the sea is beautiful and clean in all the island's bays and beaches. What is striking about a place like Pomiciazzo is the allure of its industrial archaeology. If we can't operate them and don't want to demolish them, let's at least use them as a tourist or cycling attraction. Pumice stone has been quarried in these places for centuries, and today, the echoes of the sounds of those workers and miners who extracted the stone here mingle with the waves of a crystal-clear sea. This place must be visited with respect, remembering that work is sacred and that so many people have spent their entire lives here."

"The ultimate disappointment. You reach the beach after a long, hairpin descent (not all buses take you all the way down). Once you reach the sea, one word: desolation. The owners of the two small beach clubs are very kind, but once I got there, I realized why the photos only show the sea (which is actually beautiful): behind the beach is the pumice quarry with its abandoned, rusty sheet metal warehouses. A terrible sight. Many describe it as stunning... BAH! The entire island doesn't have a single beach worth visiting. If you're looking for a beach with a breathtaking sea and scenery, this isn't the Aeolian island for you."
