The 'Ideal City' of Pienza

Pienza is a UNESCO World Heritage site, celebrated as the embodiment of Renaissance urban planning. Commissioned by Pope Pius II in the mid-15th century, the town was meticulously redesigned to be the 'ideal city' of its time.
