The title Pian Perduto takes its name from one of the three plateaus that surround it and “perduto” means “lost”, referencing the fact that Castelluccio, devastated by the 2016 earthquake, is irretrievably damaged. In June the entire plateau is colored by the flowering of all the fields, giving life to one of the most astonishing natural spectacles, la Fioritura All this reminds to me that : “Th...

Reviews Summary

Pian Perduto is celebrated for its breathtaking natural beauty, particularly the vibrant summer bloom and the serene winter snowscapes. Visitors praise the unique landscapes, the tranquility, and the opportunity to taste excellent local legumes. Some note the area's resilience after the 2016 earthquake and the importance of preserving its natural charm.

"Nice place"

Furqan Ashraf

"Pian Perduto is mainly famous for its flowering at the end of June, but in my opinion it offers a much more beautiful show during the winter.

The snow that covers the entire plateau, the total silence, and the few people present (since they all come in the summer to see the flowers), make the winter atmosphere truly unique and magical. The temperatures are obviously low, but it is the classic "dry cold" of the mountains that is tolerated very well.

The roads to reach Pian Perduto are completely free of snow and easily passable. I managed to get there with summer tires without any problem, although I still recommend bringing snow chains or snow socks (as I did), you never know.

In the nearby Castelluccio di Norcia, then, there is no shortage of places where you can eat excellent food.

A visit absolutely recommended!"

Emanuele Bonsignore

"Beautiful place. In summer it is perfect to escape from the heat. The locals have land that they cultivate, and it's nice to see them working with their machines during the day. The result is excellent legumes, even rare ones to find like roveja, which we encountered right here. We will return to admire the blooms!"
