Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Palatine Chapel's breathtaking mosaics, calling it a masterpiece of Arab-Norman art. However, many note that parts of the chapel and the Royal Apartments can be closed for restoration, leading to disappointment given the full ticket price. Some also find the extra charge for restrooms to be excessive.

"Wow, talk about popular! Even with online tickets bought beforehand, I waited an hour to get in! And inside also, there were lines and crowds everywhere! The Palatine Chapel was really worth it though, just amazing! Other things to see includes the Norman Rooms, Sicilian Regional Assembly room, temp modern art exhibits, there was a Picasso exhibit when I was there, and the gardens outside and the ruins downstairs were mildly interesting."

Eileen Weed

"The palatine chapel is marvellous... half of it is under restoration work though... and the royal apartments were also closed unfortunately... so all we got to see was the chapel, photography exhibition, a bit of archeological artifacts and the gardens... it wasn't as much to see as I hoped for, the ticket should be cheaper in this situation. We paid 15 euros each since it was a weekday. No long lines on weekdays."

Alexandra Pera

"A masterpiece of Norman architecture and one of the most important monuments in Sicily. The palace combines Arab, Norman, and Byzantine influences, reflecting the island’s rich and diverse history. The highlight is the Palatine Chapel, with its stunning golden mosaics that rank among the finest in the world. A true symbol of Palermo’s cultural heritage and a must-visit for history and art lovers."
