What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
MUSME is praised as a unique, enriching, and highly interactive museum experience, particularly recommended for families and those interested in medical history. While generally well-translated and engaging, some visitors noted minor issues with text legibility or lighting in certain areas. The historical setting of a 15th-century hospital adds significant charm to the visit.
"A unique museum experience in a 15th century building complex. I think it would be an entertaining and enriching visit for families with kids. Very broad spectrum of artifacts are on display and the visiting experience is rather informative.
The collection includes but not limited to artificial organ, tissue and skeletal models, and real organ samples prepared with plastination as well as medical instrumentation and prosthetic devices."

"Great little and focused museum building on Padua's history of medical research. Interesting exhibits with mixture of text to read, some interaction and some nicely acted video introductions to each room.
Very accessible in English with the exception of the final large model cadaver - would be great to get surtitles for that room or the ability to switch language. It's such an eye catching exhibit it was a shame not to be able to engage with it.
Nice little shop with some fun t-shirts.
Definitely recommended and can see it working for all ages."

"The museum is disappointing under several counts: rooms are often poorly lit, making it difficult to read the texts; the texts are often written with small fonts and many words have missing characters (something easy to fix, but apparently the organization does not care about it); the texts are often unnecessarily verbose and in some cases they also seemed outdated (e.g. we are over 8 billion humans, not 7 as stated in a temporary exhibition hosted by the museum)…. I could continue. My visit was partly spoiled by a large group of young visitors (guided by adults) who would shout rather than talk, including a girl in a particularly altered state… I am amazed that no MUSM personnel called for a minimum of respect for other visitors.
I add an example of poorly displayed text, quite hard to read."
