Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Church of the Carmine for its stunning Brancacci Chapel, highlighting Masaccio's groundbreaking Renaissance frescoes as a must-see artistic marvel. However, many lament finding the church closed unexpectedly, emphasizing the importance of checking opening hours and booking chapel tickets in advance.

"Beautiful, ancient, architectural"

Jesheen Paul

"Unfortunately, we visited late at night, so we couldn't go inside, but the church was still a wonderful sight, it's a shame that at least the front hall wasn't open.
The church building was dedicated in 1593, the monastery next to it (which now seems empty) was already in operation in the 15th century.
The church was significantly transformed in the 18th century, then in the 19th century and again in 1854. The monastery operated as an orphanage from 1870."

Róbert Bornai

"At the foot of Ostuni, we immediately notice this beautiful church with its neoclassical façade, dating back to the 15th century but enlarged and rebuilt in the 17th century, along with the adjoining convent. Many renovations over the centuries have altered the church's appearance, but the golden hue of the local stone blends perfectly with the white houses typical of the historic center of the white city."
