Torrevieja egyik jelképe a Torre del Moro kilátó 🌊 A rózsaszín tó és a természetpark után most egy igazi történelmi különlegességet mutatok nektek: a Torre del Moro kilátótornyot. Ezt a középkori őrtornyot annak idején a kalóztámadások megfigyelésére építették, ma pedig gyönyörű kilátás nyílik innen a tengerre és a városra.🙂 Egy rövid séta után olyan panorámát kapunk, amiért tényleg érdemes feljön...

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Torre del Moro for its spectacular panoramic views of Orvieto and the surrounding countryside, calling it the best vantage point in town. The historical significance and the rewarding climb are also highlighted as major positives, though the number of steps can be a challenge for some.

"The best view in town is from the clock tower …you can see everything from this vantage point and it’s quite impressive

The clock town is the highest point of Orvieto and well worth the visit and the climb

How far up you ask ?

Well you can take the lift (don’t get too excited it only goes to the second floor - so Italian !) once at the 2nd floor it about 170 steps up

Thinking I was fairly fit it’s didn’t seem much for a great view of town and surrounding area - I will say I was a little puffed by the time I got to the top and I didn’t take the lift (saving only a few steps) but maybe a good thing !

Once at the top the view was amazing and you certainly forgot quickly the fact that you are a little out of breath

It’s a strange this that a wonderful and totally Instagram able town like Orvieto is often forgotten amongst the Florence Rome Amalfi Cinque Terre Venice (your getting the picture - there are so many great places those influencers don’t know about ….yet)

If you find yourself in town and I suggest a visit then one thing you must do is walk up the clock tower for the best view in town

Enjoy"

"Torre del Moro in Orvieto, Italy, is a magnificent medieval tower that offers visitors a glimpse into the town's rich history and stunning panoramic views. Standing tall at 47 meters, this iconic structure dates back to the late 13th century and decorates the skyline with its imposing presence. Originally constructed as a watchtower, it has witnessed the passage of time and served various purposes, including housing a water tank. Visitors can climb its 236 steps to reach the top, where they are rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding Umbrian landscape and the charming town below. The clock added in the 19th century continues to keep time, a testament to the enduring legacy of this historical gem.
Safe travels my friends 🙏♥️😊"

"Another site included in the Orvieto Carta Unica. 230 steps to the top (although the first 60 can be skipped by the elevator). The stairs are modern, but in the walls, as you ascend, you will see the notches where the original stairs would have been. At the top you can walk all the way around. Spectacular views in all directions over the city and beyond to the countryside.
If you can manage the stairs, the view is certainly worth the climbing."
