What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Oratino is praised for its stunning panoramic views, especially at sunset, and its charming, well-preserved stone architecture, reflecting its legacy as a town of artisans. While some find it less spectacular than other 'most beautiful villages,' its serene atmosphere and authentic Molise charm make it a worthwhile stop for a peaceful experience and breathtaking scenery.
"Like many villages in Molise, Oratino is small, well-kept and replete with little interesting points of interest. It has a beautiful decorated cupola and in the main square near the statue there is a terrace which gives the most mind-boggling panorama of the area surrounding it. There is an annotated sketch which tells you the name of the villages and other points of local interest you can see from it. The town has less than 1,700 inhabitants but it was a nice place to stop for a coffee and admire the view."

"A few years ago, Oratino was chosen as one of the 100 most beautiful villages in Italy.
Located near Campobasso, this charming hilltop village boasts, among other things, a beautiful main square and a viewpoint offering breathtaking views of the Biferno River valley below.
Attractive streets and alleyways line the oldest part of the village, with buildings and houses almost all constructed of polished stone (the village is famous for its stonemasons and sculptors)."
