Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Palazzo Castelluccio, calling it a 'must-see' in Noto for its magnificent restoration and stunning interiors filled with antiques and art. While the €12 entry fee is noted, most agree it's well worth the price for the immersive historical experience. Some wish for better WIFI and clearer explanations for certain artifacts, but the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive.

"A must see in Noto! I was so pleasantly surprised by this beautifully restored palace. Perfect for people who love interior design, history, architecture... Or just beautiful sites. For moms with strollers, consider a baby carrier since there are many stairs going up and down. The reception kindly let us leave our stroller behind the front desk. I loved the visit so much I left with the book :)"

"A steep €12 to enter but oh.my.god. What a magnificent restoration. The before and after are truly gobsmacking. One of my favourite historical homes I have ever been to and I’ve been to hundreds if not thousands in my life. Absolutely ravishing wall paintings, wallpaper, tiled floors, furniture, tchotchkes and art.

There is a free online PDF audioguide which is helpful. Warning the WIFI doesn’t work beyond the entrance hall- come on guys!!- so I recommend taking snapshots of the PDF unless you have phone data.

Self-guided tour unless you want to pay an astounding €25 for a guided tour. I found the combo of my LP book and the PDF guide fine. A museum staff member gave my friend and I a brief intro in the entrance hall which was helpful.

Warning there’s NO explanation of the throne in the throne room or WHY it’s there.

The relatively bland outside entrance is easy to miss."

"Impressive late 18C house in Noto adorned with a wide variety of beautiful artefacts and decorations. We were greeted and orientated for the self guided tour by a charming member of staff with excellent English. A QR code was provided to download a guide to the house. We admired the quiet, open and accessible rooms at our leisure, marvelling at the trappings and lifestyle of the local gentry, as experienced by participants in the Grand Tour. The kitchens and stables were also a fascinating insight. A highly enjoyable visit - recommended!"
