While some note similarities to other churches, the unique historical context and specific chapel decorations are highly valued. Accessibility is generally good, making it a welcoming site for families and individuals alike.
"I've seen so many and was this one going to be any different? Of course it was.
We parked nearly and it was then easy to take the little escalator to the top - ta da - there we were.
With high ceilings and austentatious artwork, it's not much different to many others but well worth a visit if nothing else to enjoy the stained glass windows.
Lots of people while we were there.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly."

"A sacred place of particular beauty due to its architectural structure and devotional reasons, typical of the religious culture associated with Saint Francis.
The façade does not indulge in any particular histrionic features, except for a beautiful 14th-century portal surmounted by a niche decorated with a fresco depicting the Madonna and Child, depicted standing.
The interior features a basilica-like architectural structure with three naves separated by columns, surmounted by round arches.
The decorations inside curiously cover almost all the pillars separating the naves.
The pictorial representations, created between the 14th and 15th centuries, were certainly painted exclusively for devotional purposes, for the benefit of the faithful participating in the religious rites, who could thus immerse themselves both in listening to the words of the celebrant and in the vision of the mystical religious figures depicted in the frescoes.
Of the highest artistic value are the decorations in the Eroli chapel, depicting stories of Saint Francis and Saint Bernardino, attributable to the highly skilled Foligno painter Mezzastris, active in the 15th century."
