Visitors often praise Santa Maria la Nova for its serene beauty, stunning blend of Gothic and Baroque architecture, and captivating frescoes. The rumored tomb of Vlad the Impaler adds a unique historical mystery that draws many. While some find the entrance fee a bit high for the size of the complex, most agree it's a worthwhile and peaceful escape from Naples' hustle.

"One of my favourite churches in the whole of Naples. Because it's a little out the way you really get to enjoy seeing this place in all of its serene beauty. The sound of choirs singing pipes through the speakers which just makes the whole visit seen that much more ethereal. Definitely worth taking some time out of the hectic Naples lifestyle to just sit and contemplate inside this beautiful, amazing church."

Stu Radley

"Not worth 5€ each, more like 2€ as you can explore everywhere in half an hour at a leisurely pace.

It was very beautiful. And also cool to see the rumoured resting place of Vlad the Impaler and the carvings that could relate to him. Though the AI English voiceover on the documentary video needs updating. It goes rogue and says ‚blah blah blah woof woof’ 🤣 also the speed goes from very slow to very fast. It also blasts quite loudly across the courtyard and sounds a bit abrasive to the ears. Maybe better it could be activated by pressing a button as seemed to be on a loop."

Emily Hagan

"I honestly didn’t expect it to be this beautiful! An incredible hidden gem in the heart of Naples! It is peaceful, grand and full of art and history. The cloister is stunning, the details breathtaking and yes, even Vlad Drăculea has his resting place here. For just €5, it’s a place that truly leaves you in awe. ✨⛪️"
