Visitors are drawn to the Palazzo dei Principi di Montemiletto for its rich history and striking architectural blend of Baroque and Neoclassical styles. The opportunity to stay in the historic Hotel Principe Napolit'amo is a significant draw, offering a unique immersive experience. While parts of the palace are private, its historical significance and occasional vibrant reenactments make it a noteworthy destination.
"Palazzo Tocco di Montemiletto was originally built in the 16th century by the Spanish judge Egidio Tapia, comprising two buildings connected by a bridge. After being damaged by a flood in the 17th century, the palace changed hands several times until it was purchased in the 19th century by Francesco Paolo Tocco di Montemiletto, who entrusted its renovation to one of the most illustrious architects of the time, Stefano Gasse. Gasse transformed the northern building, the larger one, in neoclassical style, retaining Baroque elements in the portal, above which the Tocco noble coat of arms is visible. The southern building and the bridge were demolished in the 1950s."
