Reviews Summary
Pasticceria Marchesi is widely praised for its luxurious ambiance, exquisite pastries, and prime location within Milan's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Visitors highlight the beautiful presentation, delicious flavors, and the overall elegant experience, though some note the high prices. The option for both seated and standing service caters to different preferences and budgets.
"Very luxurious and classy place with wonderful view over the gallery and all the crowds. It is a very old pastry with legacy. You have two options to try it - to take coffee or pastry to go (without seating table) or to wait in line to be seated and enjoy the full experience. The staff is very professional and nice organized. The waiting depends on the time you come here. Me and my husband visited the pastry on sunday around 4 p.m. and waited maximum 15 minutes, but after that the line grew longer. I definitely recommend to try the hot chocolate. About the pastries- all of them are delicious and it depends on your taste."

"The restaurant is beautiful, with extremely tasty food and enormous variety of pastries. For each and every sweet tooth you have :) . I tried their signature San Daniele cured ham sandwich which was exceptional with mignon berry tartlet. Teas are also exceptional. Staff is nice, helpful and always with smile on their face. Its a must visit."

"Marchesi is a must visit place when you are in Milan and need to unwind in a relaxing atmosphere and have some delicious pastries and refreshments especially after shopping in the luxury boutiques in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.
The place is classy. It is tastefully decorated and the display of pastries and chocolates is a feast to the eyes.
Sometimes, one may think a cake shop like Marchesi with its 2 centuries of history and location is out of reach for tourists and locals alike especially in terms of value for money - this NOT the case here. This place definitely gives you value for your money in terms of taste of foods, classy atmosphere, and service. Truly, a place worth visiting in Milan.

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
While the seated area might be less ideal for very young children who can't sit still, the 'to-go' option allows you to enjoy your treats in a nearby park or back at your accommodation. The iconic Galleria itself is also an exciting place for children to explore. Consider visiting during off-peak hours to manage crowds more easily.
💰 Budget Travelers
Focus on simpler items like an espresso or a croissant rather than elaborate cakes or multi-course meals. Even a small pastry and a coffee enjoyed standing can provide a taste of the Marchesi quality and the iconic Galleria ambiance without breaking the bank.
📸 Instagrammers & Photographers
Capture the vibrant colors of the cakes, the elegant coffee cups, and the architectural grandeur of the Galleria. Early morning visits can provide softer light and fewer people, making for cleaner shots. Don't forget to photograph the iconic Marchesi logo and the bustling scene outside your window.
