What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
While the architecture and views are undeniably stunning, some visitors have reported negative dining experiences, citing rude staff and alleged discrimination. However, many praise the iconic sights like the Duomo terraces and the vibrant atmosphere of the Galleria. It's a place of grand beauty with potential for memorable moments, but awareness of service standards is advised.
"I had one of the worst dining experiences here, and I need to warn other travelers.
I was sitting OUTSIDE and was told I couldn’t smoke – fine, if that’s your rule, but:
1. The staff were extremely rude and spoke to me in Italian the entire time, fully aware I am a tourist who does not speak Italian. They used insulting language, which is unacceptable.
2. This was serious racial discrimination and bullying. They targeted me simply because I am not local.
3. I clearly said that in normal situations, smoking outside is allowed. If your restaurant has a “no outdoor smoking” policy, you should inform customers BEFORE they sit down. That way, I could have simply gone somewhere else.
4. Unless there is a specific Italian law banning smoking outdoors (which I’d like to see the exact regulation for), there is no excuse for such treatment.
This place does not respect visitors, shows no professionalism, and discriminates against foreigners. Tourists deserve better – spend your money somewhere else!"

"Amazing architecture from the outside. We didn't go inside as it was hot and too busy."

"It rained the whole time and the queue to get in and the entrance is all a bit too much to take. The duomo looks good from the outside and is the city's landmark. That's why it's a must-see"
