What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Castello della Mesola is a historic Estense Castle with interesting exhibits on local nature, though some visitors find the museum's narrative could be more engaging. It's praised for its historical significance and potential for sustainable tourism, with a highly recommended restaurant nearby. However, the heat inside the castle and maintenance could be improved.
"I guess it's difficult to know what to do sometimes with such great buildings we inherit from the past. This once prestigious castle has clearly had money invested in it to preserve it, which is great. Sadly though the museum does not have such a great narrative to sell. I hope they can find something valuable to do with such a great building, I am not sure a museum is the right thing. It is still worth a visit though, just keep your expectations in check. The place was crazy hot and in need of air conditioning when we were there."
