"È la piazza principale di Maruggio su cui si affacciano diversi edifici d'epoca tra cui il Palazzo dei Commendatori col grande trittico del Gran Maestro fra Ugo Loubenx de Verdalle. Da quando è stata rifatta è diventata molto più bella e ha acquisito valore, tuttavia andrebbero recuperati diversi edifici che vi si affacciano, così come sarebbe bello veder funzionante la fontana (mai entrata in funzione) e non guasterebbe infine qualche controllo in più sui parcheggi selvaggi da parte di alcuni frequentatori maruggesi che non si fanno scrupoli anche a parcheggiare sulla parte pedonale della piazza (comportamenti che stanno danneggiando il mattonato della piazza)."
