What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the absolutely stunning and breathtaking views from the Limone sul Garda cycle path, calling it one of the most spectacular in Europe. The unique experience of cycling or walking suspended over Lake Garda is a major highlight. However, some find the path to be shorter than expected, often crowded with pedestrians, and note that the intended connection to Riva del Garda is not fully complete.
"Generally good - lovely views of the lake and great fun
Downsides -
1. pushing your bike through town centre with lots of tourists in the way
2. Sharing the path with pedestrians - many of whom appear to be stupid
3. It doesn’t go very far"
Mike Saunders
"Lovely area for walking or cycling. Mid may 2025 be aware that the cycling path isn't connecting Limone and Riva as per google maps. The path from Riva for cyclists is closed after 1km, from Limone you can cycle for about 25 mins then it ends and you have to either go back or enter a busy traffic tunnel with no cycling path.
Best views somewhere in the middle around Sophine. Follow Googles photo icon."

"Wow! What a peaceful and gorgeous walk. We were just in awe the entire time. We got there early and snagged a parking space on the side of the road (there are only three). There were more spaces about 200m down towards Limone. If you are in the area, it is worth the visit."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
Be aware of the path's length; it's a relatively short 2km stretch, so it's more of a scenic walk or short bike ride than an extensive adventure. Consider renting bikes in Limone sul Garda for a more enjoyable experience, but be prepared to dismount and walk through busier parts of town.

Understanding the Cycle Path's Reality
While the vision is to connect various towns around the lake, the full route is not yet completed. Some users have reported sections being closed or inaccessible, and the intended connection to Riva del Garda is not fully realized. Despite these limitations, the limone bike path remains a popular attraction due to its dramatic setting. The path is carved into the cliffs, offering a sense of adventure and unparalleled vistas of the lake and surrounding mountains. It's a testament to innovative engineering and a beautiful way to experience the natural splendor of Lake Garda.
Best Practices for Visiting
When cycling, remember that the path is shared with pedestrians. Be courteous and mindful of others, riding at a moderate pace and being prepared to slow down or stop. Some reviews suggest that walkers often have priority, so patience is key.
For those looking to capture the stunning scenery, the middle section of the path, often indicated by Google's photo icon, is frequently cited as having the most breathtaking views. Consider bringing a wide-angle lens for your camera to best capture the expansive lake and cliffside panoramas.
