What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Giardino Pubblico Giuseppe Garibaldi a pleasant and shady oasis in Lecce, perfect for a relaxing break. While appreciated for its tranquility and historical statues, some areas, particularly the benches, could benefit from maintenance. It's a lovely spot for families and anyone seeking a peaceful escape.
"The park was very nice. The trees gave is shadow to sit in on a sunny days. It was good to watch the pigeons and others playing on the playground.
But I think that it has been forgotten. The slats on the benches are broken, on a few you can’t even sit.
In the park the paving stone is also in bad shape now. I hope someone will fix it someday.
Overall it is worth the visit if you stay in Lecce. A big park to relax a little or take a bath in the sunlight."

"Located just a short walk from Lecce’s historic center, the Giuseppe Garibaldi Public Gardens (also known as the Villa Comunale) are a perfect spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy some shade under the trees. The gardens combine elegance, history, and tranquility in one beautifully designed space.
The layout follows a classic Italian style, with tree-lined paths, geometric flowerbeds, and a charming neoclassical pavilion in the center topped with a green dome. Along the way, you’ll find statues and busts honoring notable figures from Lecce’s past, adding a touch of cultural depth to your walk.
Although located in the heart of the city, the gardens feel calm and removed from the hustle and bustle, great for a quiet stroll, a coffee break, or a peaceful escape with a book. Families will also appreciate the playground areas for kids.
It’s a lovely blend of nature and history, and a must-visit if you’re exploring Lecce. Easy to access from multiple entrances, and always a pleasant stop whether you’re sightseeing or just in need of a break."
