What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Regina Isabella is celebrated for its timeless 'old world glamor,' exceptional service, and beautiful thermal baths and private beach. Guests rave about the personalized attention from the staff, the exquisite dining, and the overall luxurious, authentic Italian experience. Some note that the decor is classic rather than modern, which may not suit those seeking ultra-contemporary design.
"We stayed at Regina Isabella for 6 nights for our honeymoon and had the most incredible stay of our lives. We truly had a 5 star experience thanks to the friendliest and most caring staff. Raffaello the concierge and Salvio the restaurant manager were amazing. Everywhere we went they even called ahead to insure we received the same level of care. The hotel amenities were spectacular, the food was amazing, the room (which has two balconies) was perfect, and the location was unbeatable. We wanted true old school luxury and that’s exactly what we got! Please believe me when I say you will not regret staying here!!"

"We have had four wonderful days at Regina Isabella. Charming old-world vibe, slightly dated in places but this did not distract from the experience for us (it may not be appropriate for those expecting an ultra modern/luxe experience). It is however absolutely authentic. Delicious food (would specifically call out the blue lobster pasta at the Sporting Restaurant) and an excellent gym.
One piece of feedback, management should rethink the way they use pre-authorisation charges. Our total bill was €2565 (incl. food/drink) and we already had a preauthorisation of €604. The sensible thing to do would be to process the preauthorisation and remove €604 from the total bill. They don’t do that, instead they charge the total amount €2565 and “cancel” the preauthorisation. It then takes a number of business days for the preauthorisation to be credited back to one’s account. As a result you leave the hotel essentially having paid the total amount + the preauthorisation. It is not a big deal but it is irritating and unnecessary."

"We had a wonderful experience for a short week at Regina Isabella, albeit with slightly chilly weather.
Founded by the legendary publisher Angelo Rizzoli in the 1950s, the hotel has all the attributes of a European grand hotel (the photographs on the hotel’s website do not do it justice). Besides the three restaurants and a very cozy bar area, there is a charming separate room for playing cards, which is decorated with playing card designs on the floor. The hotel also disposes of a private Sandy Beach area, a fact not immediately evident from the hotel’s website.
Our hotel room was quite large, well appointed and cozy. We particularly enjoyed the stylish built-in closets from the 50s, which offered a lot of comfort.
We very much enjoyed a dinner at the Michelin starred restaurant. The food is imaginative and fun. The wine menu is remarkable with an excellent selection of local and southern Italian wines. The other restaurants very much benefit from being supervised by the Michelin starred Chef. We practically did not leave the hotel because the restaurant left nothing to be desired.
The hotel’s greatest quality is the competence, sense of humor and friendliness of the staff. It is difficult to pinpoint who would have contributed most to our well-being, they were all wonderful! Practically all members of the staff are fluent in German or English.
We felt very much at home and are planning to return!"
