What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the stunning property, informative tours, and beautiful Tuscan views. The historical ambiance and the quality of the wine tasting experience are frequently highlighted as major draws. However, some guests have noted that the wine tasting itself could be more interactive, with less emphasis on self-guided tasting and more storytelling from staff.
"The property is stunning and the tour was excellent and super informative. Just getting there is a gorgeous drive through the beautiful hills south of Florence. The wine tasting and light lunch at the end was fantastic although we were a little underwhelmed by the wines as we had been to a winery the day before and enjoyed their wines more. But that’s a personal thing.
One thing that can be improved is once you arrive at the end of the tour to the restaurant the tasting is pretty much a self tasting. There’s no interaction between the staff once the wine is poured your are left to taste it yourself and enjoy your lunch. Nothing wrong with that, but that’s not how most tastings are run. You end up not getting much of a storytelling and detail about the wine which I would imagine would impact their sales.
Coming here and enjoying a couple hours will be one of your highlights in Tuscany! And kudos to the staff and the beautiful table setting and attention to detail in the dining room - top!"

"We did a tour with wine tasting over lunch. Wonderful Sunday afternoon. Surprised by the amount of food they brought us, but apparently Sundays they serve more than other days. Well worth a visit. Wonderful views."

"Upon arriving at the property, we were immediately struck by its charm and beautiful views. The well-maintained surroundings set a positive tone for our visit, and our first impression was quite good.
Our adventure began at the restaurant's wine tasting area, where we inquired about a walk-in tasting. We were pleasantly surprised when the staff promptly confirmed that it could be arranged. We took this opportunity to explore the property while they prepared a table for us, which demonstrated a commendable level of hospitality.
When we returned, a table was ready, and we were seated with the menu card in hand. However, we experienced a bit of a delay as we waited over ten minutes before anyone came by to take our order. Once we were attended to, we selected two wine tastings, some cheese, and water, excited to enjoy the offerings.
Unfortunately, when our wine glasses arrived, they bore evidence of their recent trip through the dishwasher, arriving slightly wet. Moreover, the bottle of water was simply placed on the table without serving. While the wine tasting provided a general description of the selections, we had anticipated a more in-depth experience.
Despite the initial enthusiasm sparked by the amazing Rose and other offerings we had sampled, the lack of a deeper tasting experience ultimately dampened our eagerness to purchase wine. Initially, we were ready to buy up to six bottles, but the experience fell short of our expectations.
In summary, while the property and initial service were promising, the wine tasting experience itself lacked the engagement and depth we hoped for. We left with mixed feelings, as the beautiful setting and potential were evident, but the execution could use some refinement, passion and hospitality skills."
